Music cannot be anything but a path to the almighty above. And any genre in its pure form can take the Artist, or the Listener, Viewer on the same path. Anything that can create a positive emotion in another being is a proof of the Supreme and Universal connection getting manifested. When you are aware of this and when this happens while you are performing - be it any genre of music or any art - it is a direct dialogue between you and HIM. The art is to be AWARE, to acknowledge and to be Grateful.
"When I see lakhs of people of varied ages, of varied cultures, from different states, different nationalities, some who can understand the lyrics and some just mesmerized for no reason, taking out time, shelling out their hard earned money for those 2 or 3 hours, dancing as though there is no tomorrow - I feel humbled. How, then can one not surrender to the 'Akal Purakh' - (the Almighty), because one can't evoke such reactions on their own, there is something else that works all the way - It is all HIS Doing. And this further reinstates the fact that HE IS THERE and is WALKING with YOU. It makes you feel blessed and thankful. Your FAITH becomes stronger. One needs to be aware. Also, not every music can connect you to HIM. Like attracts like. Similarly 'Pure' music, by pure - I mean true to the notes, in tune, not off key - can only attract Pure. I believe each living soul has this PURE -a true self in them and that is what connects. It could be jazz, Bhangra, Indian classical, folk, rock, alternative, any genre of music, any art form - a writer, a painter, any one - the PURE will attract the PURE and that connection when acknowledged can only lead you on the path to Almighty and no other abode".
