Sings for Ghai's Shaadi Se Pehle
For the first time, singer Daler Mehndi rendered a song for 'Mukta Arts' movie 'Shaadi Se Pehle'. According to Mr. Ghai, the tune was recorded almost one and a half months back but no one was suited for it. Finally, Daler turned out to be the appropriate singer as per the song's requirements.'Shaadi Se Pehle' is directed by Satish Kaushik and stars Akshaye khanna, Mallika and Ayesha Takia. Himesh scores the music. |

addresses the Pakistan Media
DALER MEHNDI addresses the Pakistan Media telephonically during a condolence conference organized in Lahore, at the sudden demise of Ghazal Maestro Parvez Mehdi ji. Daler Mehndi vowed to take care of Parvez ji’s children and grandchildren.
Daler Mehndi got the news of his mentor Ghazal Maestro's Parvaiz Mehndi's death during the DESTINY’S press conference. Daler Mehndi paid condolences to Ustad Parvaiz Mehndi Ji’s entire family and the music industry of Pakistan. The Pakistan Music Industry shared its loss and grief with Daler Mehndi. Daler who was christened Mehndi by his elder brother Amarjit Singh after the name of the legendary Parvaiz Mehdi was very emotional and upset.
DALER Mehndi on his “Soul Guru” - the Patiala Gharana Ghazal exponent “Parvez Mehdi” :
“There will never be another Parvaiz Mehndi in the world. The only true melodious voice with a great tonal quality is lost. The void that he has left behind shall never be filled. To me he was a ‘Darvesh’, I have never in my relationship have heard a harsh word, a word of mockery, scorn or a bad remark for anyone. I will be there for the entire family at their beck and call. He was like a father.” |

Daler Mehndi teams up with renowned musicians
like Errol Reid and Stephen Luscombe on the keyboards, Sultan
Khan and Liaqat
Ali on the Sarangi
and Trevor Morral on the drum have made contributions. Dinesh Pandit, nephew of famous Indian Classic maestro Pandit
Jasraj, has composed the album, while the experienced Nida Fazli has
penned the lyrics.
Hariharan on Daler Mehndi "You will be surprised
to hear his low pitch songs. He sounds wonderful. Working
with Mehndi was a brilliant experience. He is a very talented
singer. “

was held at 'The Dome' Ambassador Hotel. Select media
persons were present and the videos “Phir
Khayalon Mein Tum” , “Maine
Mana” were premiered at the do. Pandit Dinesh,
the composer of the Album, Hariharan – the Ghazal
exponent, Mr. Shashi Gopal and Mr. Aditya Gopal, the producers
of Destiny and
owner of the label DNUO
SANGAM presided over the conference. Daler while
talking to the Media remembered His mentor and impresario
the Late S Jaspal Singh who managed his concerts at the Ambassador Hotel - the
place from where he started his career as an Artist and
the same place that he is launching his new Abum “Destiny”
with an all new Daler Mehndi –singing (Ghazal like)
songs with Hariharan.

celebrates Independence Day:
Daler Mehndi vowed his fans
by broadcasting on the news channel, Aaj Tak, Headlines
Today - his own version of the patriotic "SAARE JAHAN
SE ACHHA" by Iqbal.
According to Mr. Mehndi "There
are words that become lyrics that make a song and sometimes
that becomes a song of pride. Then there are those songs,
those lyrics that are immortal, always youthful, ever
meaningful and ever relevant. The accuracy of these words
is baffling. There are very few songs that breathe,
that are alive and when you sing them - they make you
become one with the words. Very rarely does God bestow
such grace in words written by mortals. "SAARE JAHAN
SE ACHHA" is one such song written by Iqbal. No matter how
much you hate the reality of the present times- these
words engulf you in their purity and erode the hate".
