Team Daler:
Daler all set to TUNAK and create History once more!
27th September 2011, Daler brings his latest studio album
TUNAK TUNAK TUMBA - much awaited and highly appreciated by the industry insiders, in style.
Daler launched the album satirically at the Big Studios in New Delhi amidst great excitement with his song GHODA from the album, serving as an apt backdrop. Daler Mehndi walked in with a GHODA -symbolic of the innate power and simplicity of the natural state of our soul, followed by a beautiful convertible sedan epitomizing a man’s unending quest for materialism.
The Maverick performer knows how to grab attention and that too in fun ways.
The much awaited TUMBA is ridden with high dosage of Power Dance set on the notes of various Indian classical ragas like RaagBhoopkali, Saraswati, Kirwani, TilakKamod, Sarang to name a few.
This outstanding confluence of classical raags, with rock guitar riffs, accordian, been, algozhey, dhol, tabla, synths will hit the stores on the 8th of October 2011. The Album’s first video Sheila Ho YaMunni’ s teaser will premier on Daler’s official youtube channel www.youtube.com/dalermehndi at midnight tonight.
The Singer, Song-Writer, Composer and Producer released the album under his own label D Records backed by tie ups with India’s biggest Radio Network Big Fm and the largest Digital aggregator Hungama, Artist Aloud and Nokia.
“We at D Records are very excited with this new project. These are favorable times for the Music Industry. There is a huge market and backed by technology it has only added consumers. With very innovative ways to generate revenues, TUMBA is being marketed uniquely across Radio, Digital Platforms and the traditional stores. “I am excited about TunakTunakTumba, it’s my most endearing project to date.
Life in most ways is like a TUMBA… without plucking the strings, no sound is produced !Stike the chord with love it’ll make music and without love, its all noise..random…wasteful and if you don’t risk striking the chord – it’s just dormant, Dead and not alive! It’s been a beautiful journey, and all the songs
are made with one simple objective, to make my listeners forget their blues and DANCE. There’s something for everyone in TUMBA. And I hope it plucks the strings of the hearts of all those who listen. I take this opportunity to Thank the music Industry, family, friends, musicians , media and all my fans for their love and appreciation. Rabrakha”. -Daler Mehndi.
Mehndi’s latest ‘Pop’ offering TUMBA is a complete package both in its lyrical context and its music. A must have.

I have released online digitally my new album “Bhalo Bhalo Re Kirtaniya”.
Concerts , shows and songs are intrinsic part of my life but my soul belongs to kirtan and as promised to my fans I’ll continue to serve and celebrate with kirtan.
This album substantiates deeply the values of Kirtan in one’s life. The sacred words set to music expound devotion, love, celebration and absolute bliss, and connects the listeners with All-pervading divinity elevating the consciousness of one’s existence. Dedicated to Shriman Sant Sujan Singh Ji Maharaj – A Revered exponent of Kirtan, ‘Bhalo Bhalo Re Kirtaniya’ celebrates the 100 years of Maharaj Ji’s Birth Centenary.
‘Bhalo Bhalo Re Kirtaniya’ is an efficacious mean for transporting the listener to profound spiritual realms through Kirtan. Embark on this sacred musical journey to the celestial, a true path leading to union with the divine! Let Kirtan be part of your being & experience the ecstasy!

Yesterday was Eid, & today the Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji & Ganesh Chaturthi. Heartiest congratulations on the Prakash Utsav of Shri Guru Granth Sahib Ji & A very happy Ganesh Chaturthi to all of you.
It is such a pleasant feeling to celebrate two such significant festivals of different religions on the same day! I hope that every one of us realize that when festivals from different religions can coexist on the same day, people from diverse religions can prosper together too. Religious distinctions are to bring us together, and not to create differences.
“Manas Ki Jaat Sabhey Ekey Pehchanbo” – All Humankind is one. Life is a stage created by that ‘Higher Power’ and we all are here to play our roles to the best of our capacity, to gain an experience for which we all have come for. We are all the children of God and privileged with a miraculous gift called LIFE. Let’s make the most of it and make it worthy. The one who loves everyone and everything is always in love. So let’s be Human First.

India celebrates her 65th birthday today! A perfect day to remember & salute all those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the nation. Wishing all of you a very Happy Independence day!
Reflecting on the celebrations, Independence Day spurs a lot of introspective thoughts in my mind. How ironical it is that we were declared Independent years back, but our human spirit still battles for freedom. For me true Independence is to celebrate the freedom of the spirit. The spirit sees no limits, no boundaries, and guides us to follow our heart. The spirit steers us to expel self imposed and irrational barriers and to expand beyond our perceived limits.
It is now time for the human spirit to live the peaceful life it is meant to live. Let your mind gain freedom from greed, hatred, jealousy, & inhumanness. Honor the freedom of mind by making the choice to live beyond boundaries and love all.
Let us be Human. Let us be a free spirit. Let our spirits soar high! Shine On!
Rab Rakha!

DALER MEHNDI’S FANS “TUNAK TUNAK” WORLDWIDE – By Rohan on MTV Desi dated July 27, 2011
1998 seems like a decade ago. Oh wait, it was. But still, pop-bhangra singer Daler Mehndi‘s iconic “Tunak Tunak Tun” is alive and kicking all over the world.
Yes, the same video that turns Desi stomachs is captivating worldwide audiences — well, enough to make their own spoof videos.
Here’s some of our favorite international Dalers breaking it down “Tunak Tunak Tun” ishtyle.
America, The Hottie(s) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTstIEr4tDw&feature=player_embedded#at=76): Calling all gorilla juice heads. Your leaders have established your mating dance. If prancing around your apartment in your swimming trunks while beating your chest doesn’t get you the guidette of your choice, comeback to us. We’ll find you a lovely girl from shaadi.com
The Mexican Turban Dance (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8He2zR5byk&feature=related): You know contestants on talent shows who are highlighted for their acute self-delusional? Here are the William Hungs of the “I Am The Most Fabulous Bhangra Dancer” show.
Japan…ese Language Camp (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtNyA6vTvDg&feature=related): If a language camp confused Japanese for Punjabi, campers may want to ask for their money back.
Greece (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csT_tcJI2MQ&feature=related): Opa! Meets Balle! : Daler Mehndi is the theme song for a Greek cult? What?! Don’t drink the koolaid, kids…or the bhang…
South Korean Giddah (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlQT772bYDo&feature=related): Oo lala
Bon Temps (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLnHv1fSHio&feature=related): Yes, Bon Temps is actually where vampires reside on True Blood. But we figured the show could use some dancing zombies? Bhangra zombies, to be exact.
Which country has your favorite Daler Cover?

There was nothing more soothing, more charming for the ears and more euphoric for the soul than the stirring music set to the holy hymns of Sri Guru Granth Sahib by Daler Mehndi.
The celebrations at the Baisakhi Concert at Tulip Hotel, Mumbai on April 09, 2011 started with Mehndi offering humble prayers to God in the form of ‘Ardas’. Elevating the soul to universal consciousness was the highlight of the concert ‘300 saal guru de naal’ performed by Mehndi. People got together in the remarkable celebration of togetherness, and joined him when he recited the ‘Mool Mantra’. The atmosphere truly reverberated with holy fervor and gaiety.
Daler Mehndi brought the house down with his Baisakhi message. Greeting the people on the eve of Baisakhi, Mehndi reminded that Baisakhi has a multi-faceted importance in the history of India. The date establishes the foundation of Indian freedom to which “Hindustan” owes its free and independent identity. The day, which traditionally marks the beginnings of harvest season that yields nourishment for the body, simultaneously celebrates the initiation of ‘Khalsa’ or Pure, empowering the inner self on a holistic level.
Speaking about Panj Pyaras (Five Beloved), Mehndi expressed, “After 800 years of being Slaves under the Turks and the Mughals, for the first time in the history of slavery habitual, slavery modeled and oppressive, fearful country, the tenth Guru, Maharaja Shri Guru Gobind Singh created an army of saints and soldiers. The first Sikhs hailed from the lowest castes and from places like Jaggannath Puri, Bidar, Dwarka, Hastinapur and Lahore. He made a fighter out of a common man. The army of such Saints and Soldiers helped “Hindustan” become free and retain its identity of being “Hindustan” – a free, democratic, land of peers, saints, gurus, of many religious beliefs, varied languages and cultures”.
The concert was truly colored in the shades of Mehndi. The maverick performer’s vocals forced people (of various religions & languages) to cover their heads, stand up and join the holy celebrations.
